Great places to celebrate the 4th of July

Independence Day is just around the corner and our country will be celebrating 235 years of freedom. People will be going to parades, bar-be-queing, swimming, and seeing fireworks. But where are some of the best places to take advantage of all the celebrating that will be going on? Here are some cities that show true American pride in the land of the free and home of the brave:

Fort Collins, Colorado
Fort Collins is home to the Colorado State University Rams, as well as alumni and supporters alike. The city brings thousands of visitors each year to the many restaurants and shops that make the city's economy blossom. Every year on the Fourth of July, Fort Collins has events starting in the morning continuing through late night fireworks.

Daytime events include:
  • Firecracker 5k race including a kid's fun run
  • Golf Tournament
  • Old Town Square entertainment
Evening events include:
  • Live music by Live Bad Rabbit and the Fort Collins Symphony at City Park
  • Fireworks display beginning at 9:35pm

Bedford, Texas

Not only that, but the city features an old-fashioned celebration that includes the Bigtop 4thFest carnival. The 4thFest carnival takes place at Bedford Boys Ranch Park. The Bedford's Splash Aquatic Center will be available to visitors and admission is $6.50 for adults, $5.50 for children under 18, and free for toddlers 2 and under.
